Soup Kitchen
June 2017 – Heal the Hood organised a community service day during mid winter of 2017. This was a day dedicated to helping out the community and less fortunate. We had many volunteers who came out to help and we were able to establish a well rounded team for the day. We had a cleaning crew who cleaned the community centers, we ran a soup kitchen in the afternoon to allow us to give back to the community and we handed out blankets to the less fortunate which we had collected earlier in the year during a blanket drive which was held. All in all the day was a huge success and we would like to thank all of our wonderful volunteers who joined us in this initiative today.
Food Drive 2018
Heal the Hood initiated a number of food drives throughout the year of 2018. We supported local homes and orphanages in the Diazville community in Saldanha Bay. The final food drive of the year was combined with a toys drive in the spirit of Christmas. It was an extremely enjoyable day for all.
Thank you to our regular customers in aiding us to make these special moments possible.
West Coast Harvest Fair 2018
On the 24th September 2018 Heal the Hood celebrated Heritage Day at the West Coast annual Harvest Fair. It was an eventful day full of rides, joy and beautiful stalls.
Heal the Hood set up a fresh juice stall for the day where we served flu juices and flu shots and educated the public about the benefits of healthy living and juicing.
We also set up a table exhibiting some of our latest new ointments and natural remedies such as charcoal and Brazen Serpent.
We also offered a tasting station for our freshly harvested orange blossom honey from our farm in Citrusdal.
It was a wonderful experience and we hope we were able to reach some people and touch some lives with the little bit of knowledge we were able to share.
